Cycle awarded contract to build 2nd generation Timing Systems for ESA Deep Space Stations
We are excited and proud to announce that Cycle GmbH has been awarded with the European Space Agency – ESA Contract to equip the ESTRACK Deep Space ground stations with second generation Frequency and Timing Distribution Systems.

In phase 1 of the project, an initial system will be built and delivered to the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), located in Darmstadt, Germany.
In phase 2, subject to approval by ESA, further systems are planned to be deployed to the ground stations at New Norcia, Western Australia, Cebreros, Spain, and Malargüe, Argentina. We look forward to this cooperation with ESA as well as with our partner companies Lange-Electronic GmbH, Germany, and Menhir Photonics, Switzerland.
This project is carried out under a program of and funded by the European Space Agency. The view expressed herein can in no way be taken to reflect the official opinion of the European Space Agency.
Cycle appoints Daniel Seiler as CEO
For the position of the CEO, we were able to recruit Daniel Seiler who is working for our young Hamburg-based company starting August 1, 2020. The 42-year-old has 15 years of experience in the photonics industry and was most recently Managing Director of a successful medium-sized manufacturer of industrial cameras.

Our founder Prof. Dr.-Ing. Franz X. Kaertner will remain with the company in a central strategic role and focus on optical technologies.

Prof. Franz Kärtner showed him our laboratories with ongoing laser and timing developments. He was excited about our current projects and plans to grow our company further, of course with the support of Hamburg’s optimal surroundings for SMEs. Thank you for your visit, Senator Dressel!
