Introducing DIS1PPS: High-performance 1PPS distribution for ultra-stable timing systems

With DIS1PPS, Cycle GmbH introduces a high-performance 1PPS distribution amplifier designed for precise, reliable pulse distribution in demanding timing applications.

Cycle is expanding its portfolio for precision timing applications with the introduction of DIS1PPS, a 1U rack-mount pulse distribution unit engineered for ultra-stable 1PPS signal distribution in environments where timing integrity is critical. The unit provides 10 independent outputs with ultra-low additive timing jitter, very short rise and fall times, and low channel-to-channel delay variation.

DIS1PPS features two selectable SMA inputs, each equipped with a high-speed comparator for robust operation. Its outputs deliver TTL levels when unloaded or 2.5 Vpp into 50 Ω, supporting both standard 1PPS signals and pulses of arbitrary duty cycle. For system integration, the unit includes an Ethernet interface for remote input and output monitoring, automatic alarm reporting, and front-panel LEDs for clear visual diagnostics.

Typical applications include reference 1PPS distribution in space telescopes, metrology laboratories, and particle accelerators, as well as atomic clock signal distribution, UTC time realization and distribution, and calibration and high-performance testing. With its compact 1U 19-inch rack format, redundant AC power supplies, and TCP/IP interface via Telnet and HTTP, DIS1PPS is built for straightforward deployment in advanced timing infrastructures.
